Jeanne Desy, a poet and author, is the recipient of two Individual Artist's Fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council, one each in Fiction and Poetry. In 1996 she received the Josiah Bancroft Award for Folk Dancing: Notes for a Comic Novel (as yet unpublished).  She holds a Ph.D. in creative writing and literary theory from The Ohio State University (for which she was awarded a Presidential Fellowship) and has taught writing and literature at Akron University, Kent State University, Capital University and The Ohio State University.

Her contemporary feminist fairy tale, The Princess Who Stood on Her Own Two Feet was first published in Ms. magazine and has been widely reprinted and studied world-wide. Her scholarly work, poetry , humor, and essays have appeared in numerous publications. She has published three volumes of poetry. Click on the Covers for samples of each book.
